What I do now

I started Timbed in 2017. The work has two halves.

One is AI. I speak to management teams and boards, and I go into companies and get people started with assistants of their own. I also run my own firm AI-first, with written rules for what the assistant must never do, and that experience is what I pass on. I do not talk about AI. I use it every day and can answer for what happens when it goes wrong.

The other is whistleblowing. I am the first recipient for more than 40 Nordic companies, and since 2008 I have personally handled more than 1,100 cases. I read the reports myself, and that is the whole point: an impartial first assessment cannot be made by the people the case may be about.

Alongside that I run ComplianceCircle, two networks for people working in compliance, together with two other independents. And I sit on the board of the Fight Against Facilitation Payments Initiative, which I co-founded in 2018.

Where I come from

I spent fourteen years at Danfoss, from 2003 to 2017, in the roles that exist to work out what can go wrong. Head of internal audit, head of group controlling, corporate security officer and head of corporate information security. Along the way also ethics and compliance officer, and it was in that role I built the company whistleblowing scheme, back when a scheme still had to be approved by the Danish Data Protection Authority.

Before that I sat on the board of PentaSafe Security Technologies, a Danish information security company acquired in 2003. And from 2013 to 2014 I was appointed by the Danish Minister of Defence to the oversight committee for GovCERT under the Centre for Cyber Security.

I hold an MBA from Henley Business School, with a dissertation in corporate governance.

How I work

I do the work myself. Send a whistleblowing report to Timbed and I am the one who reads it, and you can be told exactly who has seen it.

I take on a limited number of engagements at a time. If there is no room, I say so.
