The question I like to ask early in a management team is how many people they think use AI weekly in their work. Few can answer with a number. Most believe they know, and they rarely do.
That is not a criticism. It is the reason the AI day is built the way it is.
How the day is put together
First a talk, for the whole company or for the management, whichever makes sense with you. Not about what AI is, but about what it does to the work, and where the limits are.
Then we set things up. Up to five people, each with a real task they brought and already spend time on. They go home with an assistant that handles that task, not with a demonstration.
And afterwards an online follow-up, where we take whatever surfaced along the way. Something always does, that nobody had in mind that morning.
Why it is built that way
The tools are the easy part. Getting them used is the hard part, and that does not happen because of a policy.
It happens when someone finds that a job she does every week suddenly takes twenty minutes instead of two hours. She tells the person next to her, and then you are under way without having held a meeting about it.
What it is not
It is not a strategy day, and it is not a policy. If you want AI on the board’s agenda with a framework and defined roles, that is a different conversation.
It is not a course for a group either. It is five people and five tasks.
Questions we get
- What do we need to have ready?
- One task per person. Something they already do and spend time on. Not an idea about what AI might be used for, but a concrete piece of work they bring with them on the day.
- Who should take part?
- Up to five people, plus the management for the talk. It works best when those five are not the same five who are already curious about technology.
- What does it cost?
- A fixed price per visit, agreed in advance, so the price follows the day rather than the tasks. Write to me and I will send it. Travel outside eastern Jutland is agreed separately, and each person's own subscription is yours to pay.
- What happens afterwards?
- An online follow-up where we take the things that surfaced along the way. And a special hourly rate for a period after the visit, if you want more help.
